HS Soccer: HHCA Boys Outlast JPII

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys wore down a short-handed John Paul II squad in the second half of a 4-0 win Monday.

Ben Viljac’s goal broke a scoreless tie early in the second half, and Carson Webster, Evan Berkner, and Josue Hurtado added goals for the Eagles.

Lukas O’Grady and Bryce Macauley combined for six saves to preserve the shutout.

The Golden Warriors were down five starters but stayed in the game thanks to strong performances from Nathan Riley, Chris Puga, Hampton Wyman, and Mark Knight.

The Eagles (5-3-1) host St. Andrew’s for a pivotal region match at 6 p.m. Thursday. JPII (4-6) hosts Holy Trinity for a region contest at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
