HS Soccer: Dolphins Win Prolonged Shootout Over Lions

Hilton Head Prep’s girls prevailed in a penalty shootout to claim a big region win at St. Andrew’s on Tuesday.

After playing to a scoreless draw through regulation and two overtime periods, the Dolphins and Lions were still tied 4-4 after the first round of five penalty kicks, and it took until the eighth shooter for Hilton Head Prep to win in sudden death.

Caitlin Heidel posted the regulation shutout in goal – her eighth of the season – and was one of seven Dolphins to convert in the shootout. Bailey Sullivan, Olivia Light, Ella Clark, Ryan Dailey, Katelyn Adkins, and Kelsey O’Connor also scored on their penalties.

The Dolphins (7-2-1, 3-0) host Pinewood Prep at 4 p.m. Thursday.
