The USCB softball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Ave Maria with a pair of shutouts Saturday.
The Sand Sharks won 7-0 and 1-0, giving them four wins in as many games in Sun Conference play this week. USCB swept St. Thomas 4-0 and 16-6 on Thursday.
Abby Pac struck out 10 in a three-hitter in the first game Saturday, after tossing a five-hit shutout two days earlier against St. Thomas. Taylor Boykin led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBIs, and two runs.
Canyon Crosby pitched a gem in the finale, striking out six in a three-hitter. Kaitlyn O’Hearn drove in the game’s only run with an RBI single in the sixth, while Kylie Kelly and Rachel Frankhouser each had two hits.
The Sand Sharks (24-9, 4-4 TSC) host NAIA top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Sunday for Strikeout Cancer Day.
