Battery Creek’s track & field team traveled to Florida to face some elite competition Saturday at the Bob Hayes Invitational hosted by William M. Raines High School.
The Dolphin girls had a strong showing, finishing 10th among 54 schools. Tiana Gray had Battery Creek’s best finish, placing third in the pole vault (7-8.5), while Gabrielle Huggins finished ninth in the 3200-meter run (13:18.85). LaShae Milledge was 14th in the shot put (30-1), and Dazanni Hinton was 15th in the discus (86-5).
On the boys’ side, Dizayah Hinton’s 16th-place finish in the discus (110-10) marked the team’s top performance.
