Cane Bay’s Dylan Harley outdueled Beaufort High’s Paul Winland in a matchup of two of Region 8-4A’s top pitchers to give the Cobras a 3-0 win Friday.
Harley struck out 13 and limited the Eagles to three hits and a walk in a complete game. Winland gave up three runs (one earned) and four hits over six innings with seven strikeouts and four walks.
The Cobras opened the scoring in the bottom of the second, and it remained a 1-0 game until the bottom of the sixth, when Cane Bay plated a pair of insurance runs.
Luke Londono, Wade Olivarri, and Drew Luckey each had hits for Beaufort.
The Eagles (7-2, 3-1) continue region play with a home game against Hilton Head High at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Luke Londono got a hit. His brother Christian Londono is not on this team yet.
Corrected. Thanks for the heads-up.
