HS Baseball: Bobcats Break Out Late, Even Series With Sharks

Bluffton baseball used a six-run sixth inning to break open a close game and claim a 9-2 win over rival May River on Wednesday.

Jordan Kennedy went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs, Griffin Yeager was 3-for-4 with a double, two triples, and two RBIs, and Joe DiCarlo was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Bobcats.

Noah Simenson went the distance on the mound for the Bobcats, allowing two runs and nine hits while striking out five. Nick Bass took the loss and was charged with five runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings.

Tater Goodson and Josh Patterson each had two hits and an RBI for the Sharks.

The three-game series is tied at a game apiece heading to the rubber match at 7 p.m. Friday at May River.
