HS Lax: Seahawk Boys Rally To Beat Greenville

Hilton Head High boys’ lacrosse started its Greenville trip on a high note Friday, beating Greenville High School 10-8.

The Seahawks started slow, giving up a quick three-goal lead before rallying back.

Leading the offense were a host of Seahawks, led by sophomores Will Frith (2 goals), Max Boyer (2 goals) and Whit Molloy (4 goals). Also scoring were Reed Parker (1 goal), Jake Rader (1 assist) and Colin Courtney (1 goal and 1 assist).

Defensively, senior Chris Valentino anchored the defense with 12 saves between the pipes. Joining him were Colin Courtney (13 GBs, 2 TAs), Frith (9 GBs), Molloy (7 GBs, 3TAs, 1 INT), Jordan Singleton (3 TAs), and Nick Magnin (1 TA).

At the faceoff X, Frith was masterful, winning 17 out of 18 draws. Joining him was freshman Hake Patrick (2 for 3).

“These two guys really kept us in the game tonight,” coach Will Callegari said. “I could not be more proud of the way we battled tonight. We finished a six-hour bus drive, and came out of the gates flat. But instead of rolling over, we came back fighting. Greenville was a good team, and they definitely made us earn it tonight. We faced adversity and overcame it. Absolutely a great step in what we are trying to do.”

The Seahawks (5-1) face Christ Church at 2 p.m. Sa
