Hilton Head Prep’s girls’ soccer team opened their season with a 6-0 loss to a strong Savannah Country Day team Tuesday.
Caitlin Heidel faced a barrage of shots from the Hornets, making more than 30 saves according to Dolphins coach Risa McMillan.
“They fought hard but Savannah Country Day had depth, speed, height, and experience that was beyond our means,” McMillan said. “With a lot of new faces on our team, we are still trying to piece together the best jigsaw puzzle as far as positions are concerned.”
Prep (0-1) hosts Beaufort Academy at 4 p.m. Thursday.
