Eight different players scored goals to lead the Hilton Head High girls’ lacrosse team to a 12-0 win over May River in their season opener Wednesday.
Anne Evans scored three goals, Katie Bennett and Lily Neiderer added two apiece, and Victoria Glover, Ashtin Soule, Emma Grace Walters, Lara Martel, and Lexie Locker each scored a goal for the Seahawks. Martel added three assists.
Katie Bennett won four draws and scooped a team-high six ground balls for Hilton Head, and Marlee Brummer (five saves) and Sophie Spahr (two saves) combined for the shutout in goal.
The Sharks (0-1) host Richmond Hill at 6 p.m. Friday, while the Seahawks (1-0) travel to Bluffton at 10 a.m. Saturday.
