HSBB: Jaguars Cruise; Bobcats, Sharks Lose Close Games In 3A Boys Bracket

The second-ranked Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys easily passed their first step in the Class 3A playoffs Tuesday, beating visiting Lake Marion 66-44.

The Jaguars were the only area team to survive the first round of the Class 3A boys playoffs, as May River lost 50-48 at top-seeded Bishop England and Bluffton fell 61-54 at Manning.

Rashamel Butler, who was named to the Class 3A All-State team earlier in the day, scored 19 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and three steals to pace the Jaguars.

Jabari Williams posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, Devin Butler scored 13 points and grabbed seven boards, Diamonte Robinson added 11 points, and Myle Pinckney contributed eight points and seven rebounds.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville (21-1) will host Dillon, which upset No. 2 seed Strom Thurmond 66-59, in Friday’s second round.
