May River’s girls stunned region leader and Class 3A No. 2 Ridgeland-Hardeeville on Friday, beating the visiting Jaguars 43-37.
Chynna Sneed scored 12 points, Jordan Bigham added 11, and Gracy Drury scored six of her eight points in the fourth quarter to help the Sharks snap the Jaguars’ 10-game win streak and hand them their first region loss.
Quanajia Drayton and Timothea Green scored 12 points apiece for the Jaguars.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville (10-3, 4-1) travels to Battery Creek on Tuesday with first place in the region on the line. May River (9-9, 2-3) returns to action Friday at Battery Creek.
