Bluffton’s girls missed a shot at the buzzer and came up short Friday, losing 40-38 to Lake Gibson (Fla.) in the Battle on the Island tournament in Fleming Island, Fla.
The game was tied with 25 seconds left before the Braves took the lead with a pair of free throws, and the Bobcats’ long jumper was off the mark.
Judaah Mitchell scored eight points, Kennedy Barber and Samari Mitchell added seven apiece, and Allayan Bryan chipped in six to lead Bluffton.
The Bobcats (5-5) wrap up the tournament against Thomas County Central (Ga.) at 9 a.m. Saturday.
