The RBC Heritage HSBB Players Of The Week Are …

Just like some of the early-season clashes we’ve seen on the court, this week’s RBC Heritage High School Basketball Player of the Week voting was super-competitive.

Three players split the lion’s share of the girls vote, and two boys duked it out for this week’s crown.

One housekeeping note before we get to the fun part – you have to cast your vote in the polls NOT in the comments.

On the girls side, Bluffton’s Tatyana Aiken came out on top with 35.71 percent of the vote, holding off strong efforts by May River’s Chynna Sneed (26.49%) and Battery Creek’s Kevea Sanders (23.36%). Aiken was a solid choice after averaging 19.3 points while helping the Bobcats go 3-0 last week.

In the boys vote, Beaufort High’s Daijion Galloway claimed 35.53 percent of the vote to edge Bluffton’s Jermaine Patterson (30.74%) by a narrow margin of 64 votes. Galloway almost didn’t make the nominee list because the Eagles went 0-2 last week, but his line of 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game was too good for me — and apparently you – to ignore.

Congrats to this week’s winners. Can’t wait to see what everyone does to try to earn a spot on next week’s list.
