HSBB: Wright’s Bucket Lifts Seahawks To Season-Opening Win At Whale Branch

Trevor Wright hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left to lift the Hilton Head High boys basketball team to a season-opening 46-43 win at Whale Branch on Tuesday.

Wright’s game-winner capped a 13-point night to lead the Seahawks, while Chris Washington added 11 points and Will Danzell scored eight.

JaQuan Watson scored 11 points and Roshard Campbell added nine to lead the Warriors, who took a three-point lead into the fourth quarter before HHIHS outscored Whale Branch 17-11 in the final period.

Both teams are back in action Friday, as HHIHS (1-0) travels to Bluffton and Whale Branch (0-1) hosts Beaufort High.
