HSFB: Defending Champs Too Much For JPII

John Paul II’s most successful football season to date came to an end with a 35-0 loss to defending state champion Dillon Christian on Friday in the first round of the SCISA Class 1A playoffs.

Zack Doe rushed for 101 yards on 26 carries, but the Golden Warriors were unable to find the end zone and didn’t have an answer for the Warriors’ powerful offense.

JPII kept it within 14-0 in the first half, but Dillon Christian was able to pull away with three third-quarter touchdowns.

JPII finishes the season with a 6-5 mark a year after going 0-10 in its first season of 11-man varsity football.
