Battery Creek erased most of a 25-point halftime deficit before falling 32-26 at Bishop England on Friday in the first round of the SCHSL Class 3A playoffs.
The Dolphins couldn’t get anything going on offense and didn’t have an answer for Leo Albano in the first half. Albano ripped off touchdown runs of 29, 8 and 68 yards and threw a 66-yard touchdown pass as Bishop England built a 25-0 lead.
Quarterback Jordan Gwyn led the Dolphins’ comeback with three rushing touchdowns and a touchdown pass to Armani Gibbs in the second half, but Battery Creek ran out of time.
The Dolphins finished 4-6 in coach Walter Wilson’s first season at the helm.
