The Hilton Head Island High School volleyball team defeated Bluffton High School on Tuesday, avenging last week’s loss to the Bobcats.
The Seahawks spoiled Bluffton’s Senior Night with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-20) win as Lexie Standen collected eight kills and 17 assists and Grace Vanderslice added 16 assists and 13 digs. Sophia Kaup had eight kills and 10 digs for HHIHS, and Kate Schwartz added eight kills.
The Bobcats beat the Seahawks 2-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-22) on Thursday behind 13 kills from Megan Briody and 16 digs from Lauren Poppy.
Both teams are back in action Thursday, as HHIHS travels to Colleton County for a Region 8-4A match and Bluffton goes to May River for a Region 8-3A tri-match with the Sharks and Battery Creek.
