The Week 7 RBC Heritage HSFB Player of the Week Is …

One challenger got of to a quick start, and another made a late push.

But no one could catch Thomas Heyward Academy’s Jacob Masters, which is a pretty good metaphor for how he earned RBC Heritage High School Football Player of the Week honors for Week 7.

The junior receiver and linebacker was a two-way standout in the Rebels’ 52-23 win over Hilton Head Christian Academy on Friday, racking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown and returning an interception 70 yards for a score.

LowcoSports.com readers were impressed. Hilton Head Prep’s Hunter Hopman gave Masters a good run early on, and May River’s Cam Adams closed the gap significantly earlier today, but Rebel Nation would not be denied after seeing J.R. Patterson finish a close second last week.

Masters garnered 41.2 percent of the vote and is the Week 7 RBC Heritage Player of the Week.

Just 48 hours until everyone gets a chance to make their case for Week 8.
