The USCB women’s soccer team picked up its first Sun Conference win of the season Saturday at Florida Memorial, scoring in the 81st minute to claim a 1-0 victory over the Lions.
All-time leading scorer Hayley Piña flicked a header past goalkeeper Adriana Rosero off a corner kick from Rileigh Olsen to break the scoreless draw with less than 10 minutes remaining.
Courtney Sherry made three saves for her third shutout of the season, as the Sand Sharks’ defense limited the Lions to four total shots.
USCB (4-4, 1-2 TSC) hosts Thomas (Ga.) for a Sun Conference match at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
