The Beaufort High School volleyball team swept a Region 8-4A tri-match at home Thursday, beating Cane Bay and Colleton County.
The Eagles beat Cane Bay 2-0 (25-17, 25-17) behind a team-high nine kills from Chase Vaigneur and 19 digs from Caroline Malphrus. Madison Gallion collected five aces, seven digs, and nine assists, while Macy Purdy added four kills and six assists, and McCayla Willingham had two blocks.
Beaufort High beat Colleton County 2-0 (25-15, 25-14) with Hailey Lamar leading the way with five aces. Vaigneur had four aces and six digs, Purdy added three kills and five digs, Malphrus racked up 10 digs, and Gallion had five assists.
The Eagles play another key Region 8-4A match Thursday, hosting region power Hilton Head Island High School at 6:30 p.m.
