Tennis: Locals Claim Titles At SC Junior Open

Three local players claimed singles titles and a Hilton Head Island duo won a doubles crown at the S.C. Junior State Open Championships at the Citadel over the weekend.

Hilton Head Island’s Andrea Brignacca doubled up on championships, teaming with fellow islander Ryohei Arai to win the boys 18 doubles and defeating his partner in the boys 18 singles final.

Hilton Head’s Savarin Seebald nearly pulled off a double of her own, losing in the girls 16 singles final and dropping the girls 16 doubles final with partner McKenzie Daniel of Beaufort.

Caitlyn Jackson (Okatie) won the girls 10 singles crown in dominant fashion, dropping only one game in four matches, while Beaufort’s Graeme Angus won the boys 10 singles title, and Hilton Head’s Drew Rukavina lost in the boys 12 singles final.
