Grant Bohmert kicked a 25-yard field goal and Kagel Coke returning an interception 25 yards for a touchdown as Beaufort High held off May River for a 9-7 road win Friday.
The Eagles did all of their scoring in the first half and did not manage an offensive touchdown against a strong May River defense.
The Sharks cut the lead to 9-7 when Ahmad Green and Cam Adams hooked up for a 55-yard touchdown pass with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles’ defense was able to shut out May River the rest of the way.
Beaufort (4-0) is off next week before opening Region 8-4A play at Stall on Sept. 29. May River (1-3) travels to Manning next week.
