HS XC: Belden, Mills Lead BHS Boys To 6th In Summerville

Beaufort High School’s boys cross country team finished sixth among 20 teams and the girls were 10th among 17 teams at the Green Wave Invitational on Saturday in Summerville.

Freshman Marlon Belden finished 16th in 17:55 and eighth-grader Nash Mills (18:03) was 21st to lead Beaufort’s boys. Joshua Wilborn (18:55) was 38th, Collin Durham (18:57) was 39th, and Charlie Bennett (19:21) was 46th to round out the scoring for the Eagles.

Shannon Smith was the top finisher for Beaufort’s girls, placing 22nd in 23:08. Taylor Maddox (24:02) finished 41st, Isabel Vega (25:38) was 68th, Reese Allen (26:19) was 76th, and Maggie Kinton (26:20) was 77th.

The Eagles are back in action next Saturday at the Coaches Classic in Columbia.
