Bluffton Softball Team Headed To State, Two Baseball Teams Stay Undefeated

The Bluffton Angels (age 9-10) softball team advanced to the state tournament, and two Bluffton baseball teams stayed undefeated in district tournament play Saturday.

The Bluffton Angels lost their first game of the night 12-7 to Colleton County but bounced back for an 18-3 victory in the finale of the best-of-3 series to advance to the state tournament starting July 8 in Dillon.

In the AA Machine Pitch (age 7-8) tournament in Walterboro, Bluffton American defeated Beaufort 21-7 to advance to the winner’s bracket final against Hilton Head, which edged Bluffton National 12-11. Bluffton National will face Beaufort in the elimination bracket.

In the Minors (age 9-10) tournament at Crossings Park on Hilton Head Island, Bluffton American defeated Bluffton National 5-4 in a defensive battle, advancing to take on Colleton County in the winner’s bracket final. Bluffton National falls to the elimination bracket to face Hampton.
