The University of South Carolina Beaufort officially introduced its first head basketball coaches Tuesday at a press conference in front of the Hargray Building on USCB’s main campus, and men’s coach Ron Fudala and women’s coach Sharon Versyp are ready to hit the recruiting trail to build their Sand Shark hoops squads for next season.

Versyp retired a little over a year ago after a 15-year run at Purdue, where she is the program’s winningest all-time coach and led the Boilermakers to four Big Ten Tournament titles and two NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearances. Fudala was the top assistant at Indiana (Pa.), which played in the NCAA Division II Final Four last year.
