HSGBB: Warriors bust out balance, blow out Bobcats

Whale Branch girls basketball continued its late-season surge with a seventh consecutive victory Wednesday, routing Baptist Hill 56-16 at home.

The Warriors dominated from the outset, blanking the Bobcats in the first quarter and limiting them to a single field goal en route to a 37-3 halftime lead. Baptist Hill managed only five field goals all night, while Whale Branch made 25, including five 3-pointers.

Whale Branch displayed its most balanced scoring effort of the season, as Kynew Barnwell led the way with 18 points, Erin Rivers added 10, Heaven Grant scored nine, and Jalaila Jenkins chipped in eight.

Whale Branch (14-6, 8-2) travels to Baptist Hill for a rematch on Friday before hosting Charleston Math & Science on Saturday for its fourth game of the week.
