HSGBB: Dolphins dominate on defense to handle Holy Trinity

Hilton Head Prep girls basketball used its stifling pressure defense to frustrate a young Holy Trinity team on the road Tuesday, jumping out to a big lead early and coasting to a 43-11 victory.

The Dolphins outscored the Mighty Lions 25-5 in the opening quarter and shut out Holy Trinity in the second quarter before backing off and turning to the bench to finish it off.

Courtney Campbell scored 13 points, Haylee Hopman added 10, and Katie Campbell had seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals to go with three points for the Dolphins.

Eliza Gaillard scored six points to lead Holy Trinity.

HHP (12-5, 3-2) travels to Thomas Heyward on Thursday, while Holy Trinity (10-6, 0-6) plays at John Paul II on Friday.
