Battery Creek girls basketball put together a balanced effort Friday at Hanahan, as four Dolphins scored in double figures in a 48-33 Region 8-3A victory.
The Dolphins bolted to a 16-2 lead after one quarter before the Hawks clawed back within eight at halftime. But Creek turned on the jets in the third, outscoring Hanahan 18-6 in the period to pull away.
Kiara Wilson led the way with 13 points, including nine in the pivotal third period, while Ashante Shaw added 12, and Sophia Felix and Genesis Wilson contributed 10 apiece.
The Dolphins (8-10, 4-2) were back in action Saturday with a home win over North Charleston to solidify second place in the region. Check back to LowcoSports.com later for a full recap of that game.
