Mike’Ala Washington had another big night to set herself up for an impending milestone, and Beaufort Academy girls basketball ran its winning streak to four games with a convincing 64-16 home win over Thomas Heyward on Thursday in SCISA Region 4 play.
Washington poured in a game-high 32 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the way for the Eagles and put her at 992 career points, meaning she is likely to hit the 1,000-point plateau next Friday at home against Holy Trinity.
Tahleea Heyward and Kamirah Freeman each added 12 points for the Eagles, while Brooke Smith scored five points to lead the Rebels.
BA (13-4, 4-1) hosts Holy Trinity on Friday, while THA (1-9, 1-2) plays at John Paul II on Monday.
