HSGBB: Bobcats blow by Bengals in key region clash

Bluffton girls basketball continued its Region 7-4A dominance with an impressive road win Tuesday, rolling Lucy Beckham 40-25 to open a two-game lead atop the region standings.

The Bobcats grabbed an 11-5 lead after one quarter and increased the margin to nine points at the halfway stage. Lucy Beckham put up a fight in the third to make it an eight-point game, but the Bobcats closed on a 10-3 fourth quarter run to put it away. 

Tacoya Heyward turned in another strong performance, leading all scorers with 15 points. Madi Washington joined in double digits with 10 points, and Katie Rodney added eight.

Bluffton (13-1, 6-0) hosts Beaufort High on Friday.
