Calvary Day’s Hannah Cail poured in 27 points and the Cavaliers cashed in at the foul line late to close out a 52-45 road win at Hilton Head Christian Academy in the latest installment of the area’s best interstate girls basketball rivalry.

The Eagles pulled out a 69-61 overtime win at Calvary on Jan. 3, and the rematch was just as much of a fight. Cail scored 17 first-half points to stake the Cavaliers to a 27-25 halftime lead, and Calvary extended the margin to six going to the fourth, but HHCA clawed back, pounding the ball inside to Abby Peduzzi and getting a 3-pointer from Tamya Hutchinson to take a 42-40 lead with two minutes left.
It was Cail’s night to shine, though, as the junior guard converted an and-1 to give Calvary the lead for good, as the Cavs closed it out with six straight free throws.
Hutchinson scored a team-high 17 points for the Eagles, while Peduzzi added 14, and Kenzie Buchter contributed nine.
HHCA (11-2) travels to Thomas Heyward on Tuesday for a region matchup.
