Hilton Head Christian Academy girls basketball let the starters get out to a big lead, then handed it over to the reserves to coast to a 50-23 home win over Colleton Prep on Tuesday to open SCISA Region 4 play.


The Eagles scored the first 27 points of the game and led 29-2 after one quarter before sending the starters to the bench for most of the night. HHCA extended it to 40-10 at halftime and cruised to the finish.
Abby Peduzzi led the way with 16 points and Tamya Hutchinson added 10 in limited action for HHCA. Jaida Grayson chipped in with six points for the Eagles.
HHCA (8-1, 1-0) hosts Beaufort Academy for a region clash Friday. CPA (0-7, 0-1) plays a non-region game at Jefferson Davis on Thursday.
