The Lowcountry’s marquee high school hoops tournament is back. After taking 2020 off due to COVID-19 concerns, the Seahawk Holiday Classic returns Monday through Wednesday at Hilton Head Island High School with a star-studded 16-team field.
The eight boys and eight girls teams hail from six different states, including South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky and Florida.

Headlining the boys bracket are defending SCISA 3A state champion Trinity Collegiate, Georgia’s Loganville High School, West Virginia’s Martinsburg High School, and Kentucky’s Harlan County featuring sensational sophomore and 1,000-point career scorer Trent Noah.
The girls’ tourney will be just as stacked, led by unbeaten Trinity Collegiate and sophomore phenom Kiyomi McMiller, SCHSL 5A power Sumter High School, and Florida’s Bishop Kenny High School with senior guard and North Florida commit Maddie Millar.
The tournament’s two most famous alumni reached legendary milestones in their respective sports over the past week. Summerville High school standout and Arizona Cardinal A.J. Green became the 15th player in NFL history to surpass 10,000 career receiving yards on Monday, while Charlotte Christian product and Golden State Warriors icon Stephen Curry was crowned as the NBA’s career three-point leader on Tuesday, breaking Ray Allen’s mark of 2,973 triples.
The Seahawk girls will take the court at 7 p.m. Monday against Spring Mills (WV), and the boys will follow in an opening-round matchup with Harlan County (KY).
Tickets are available online at hhihsathletics.org. Fans can purchase a single-day pass for $12 or a three-day pass for $28.
