Colleton County girls basketball was slow out of the gate Saturday against Battery Creek, but the Cougars hit their stride in the second half to surge to a 45-37 home win over the Dolphins for their seventh straight victory.

The Cougars finished with three players in double digits, but they had a tough time scoring early on. Battery Creek led 7-4 after a sloppy first quarter and maintained the three-point margin through halftime before Colleton erupted for 19 points in the third quarter to surge to a 32-23 lead.
Shandi Brown had another huge game for the Cougars with 21 points, seven rebounds, and five steals, while Bethany Monroe added 12 points, three rebounds, and three steals, and Makayla Chisolm collected 10 points and seven rebounds.
CCHS (7-2) has won seven straight heading into its Region 7-4A opener at May River on Tuesday. Battery Creek (1-7) travels to Wade Hampton on Tuesday.
