Holy Trinity girls basketball turned in a stifling defensive effort Friday, beating the visiting Coastal Hurricanes homeschool program 38-10 in the first round of the BA Classic.


The Mighty Lions roared to a 25-5 halftime lead after outscoring the Hurricanes 17-3 in the second quarter, and they pitched a shutout in the fourth quarter to seal a dominant win.
Eliza Gaillard scored 14 points and Lilly Cooler added eight to lead Holy Trinity. Madison Brooks had seven points for Coastal, which was 4-for-45 from the field, including 2-of-32 from 3-point range.
Holy Trinity (6-0) will take on host Beaufort Academy in the championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday.
