HSBBB: JPII repeats history in rematch with Matadors

For the second time in eight days, John Paul II boys basketball edged Memorial Day by the narrowest of margins. After a one-point win over the Matadors at home a week ago, the Golden Warriors held on for a 50-49 win at Memorial Day in the rematch Tuesday.

Mark Knight led the way for the Golden Warriors with 19 points and five rebounds, and Jackson Ogden had a huge night with 18 points, eight steals, and three assists.

Christian Tilton played limited minutes but contributed eight points, five boards, and four steals for JPII. Kelon Scruggs scored 17 points to lead the Matadors.

JPII (3-0) hosts Patrick Henry on Friday.
