HSGBB: Seahawks can’t solve Wildcats’ D in road defeat

Hilton Head High’s girls were stymied by a terrific Richmond Hill defense Saturday, falling to the Wildcats 42-25 on the road.

The Seahawks trailed 9-6 after one quarter and were held to four points in the second period to fall behind 17-10 at halftime. Hilton Head High kept within striking distance at 27-18 going into the fourth, but the unbeaten Wildcats closed on a 15-7 run to seal the victory.

Sophomore Deja Godsun led the scoring for the Seahawks, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Janiya Ferebee was active defensively with four steals and six rebounds on top of four points, and Lynda Young tacked on four points with three rebounds.
