The three Lowco area teams earning recognition from the state’s high school sports reporters held their ground in the new S.C. Prep Football Media Poll released Tuesday.
Whale Branch (4-1, 3-1) remained at No. 6 in the Class 1A rankings after having last week off. The Warriors travel to Estill on Friday for the first of two non-region tune-ups before the playoffs.
Beaufort High (6-1, 2-0) stayed steady at No. 7 in Class 4A with a 16-0 win at James Island on Friday. The Eagles face the biggest test on their region slate Friday when they host May River. The Sharks (5-2, 2-0) received votes for the top 10 for the second straight week after a 30-3 win at rival Bluffton on Friday.
