Beaufort High is climbing back up the Class 4A rankings, with region rival May River knocking on the door, and Whale Branch held steady in the Class 1A rankings in the most recent S.C. Prep Football Media Poll released Tuesday.
The Eagles (5-1) jumped three spots to No. 7 in Class 4A after a 38-14 home win over Hilton Head High on Friday, and May River (4-2) received votes following a 35-18 home victory over James Island. Beaufort travels to James Island on Friday, while May River heads to Bluffton for the Hometown Showdown.
Whale Branch (4-1) held steady at No. 6 in Class 1A after a 31-14 home win over Cross to wrap up second place in Region 7-1A. The Warriors play at Estill on Oct. 15.
