HSVB: Dolphins down JPII to get back in win column

Hilton Head Prep volleyball snapped a three-game losing streak with a sweep of visiting John Paul II on Tuesday. 

The Dolphins fought off strong challenges from the visiting Golden Warriors in the first two sets, grinding out 25-22 and 25-20 victories, before cruising to a 25-10 win in the third to seal it.

Ashley Wilmot had seven kills and 10 digs, and Haylee Hopman added six kills and 11 digs to lead the way for the Dolphins, as Ella Clark dished out 23 assists. Anna Scott had a solid night in the middle for HHP with four kills and two blocks, while Abi Mendoza added four aces, and Annie Braun picked up 10 digs.

Emily O’Sullivan recorded four kills to lead JPII, while Emma Sauls and Sadie Moulton each served up four aces, and Zoe Mast and Lili Lutheran anchored the defense.

HHP (9-5, 3-3) travels to Thomas Heyward on Thursday. JPII (7-3) hosts Beaufort Academy on Thursday.
