HS GTEN: Undefeated Dolphins down Seahawks in cross-island clash

Hilton Head Prep girls tennis continued its unbeaten streak to start the season Monday, topping cross-island rival Hilton Head High 6-1 on the road.

The Seahawks were without top player Emily Ruckno, and the Dolphins took advantage by winning the first four singles courts, including a pair of three-set thrillers at No. 1 and No. 2. Savie Seebald and Avery Brothers each won third-set pro sets after splitting the first two sets with their opponents. HHP also won a three-set match at No. 2 doubles.

The Seahawks’ lone victory came at No. 5 singles.

HHP (8-0) is back in action Tuesday, hosting Beaufort Academy at South Beach Racquet Club. HHIHS (3-1) returns to region play Thursday with a home match against May River.
