HSFB: Bobcats can’t get offense going vs. Red Raiders

A short-handed Bluffton team couldn’t solve a stingy Bamberg-Ehrhardt defense on Friday, falling to the Red Raiders 27-0 on the road.

The fourth-ranked team in Class 1A was consistent all game long on the offensive side, finding the end zone in each quarter with four rushing touchdowns while holding down a young and Bobcat offense that was without both of its quarterbacks due to COVID-19 protocols.

The luck was not on Bluffton’s side, either, as two touchdowns were called back on penalties and turned into empty trips. It was a commendable defensive effort from John Houpt’s group, but the short-handed offense had a tough time keeping the defense off the field.

Bluffton (0-2) plays its third straight road game Friday against Airport.
