The SCISA 2A royals were too much for The King’s Academy on Friday night, as Hilton Head Christian Academy opened its title defense with a dominant 54-23 road victory.

Jace Blackshear tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another, while transfer Joseph “Speedy” Robinson found the end zone three times in his HHCA debut including a 65-yard scamper. Robinson and Riley Shinn each scored on a punt return, and both Jackson Lanier and Morgan Bendenbaugh picked up receiving touchdowns. Lanier was dominant on the defensive side, while Blackshear added an interception.
The Eagles quickly surged ahead in the first quarter, rattling off 34 points in the opening period. Ron Peduzzi’s squad added three more touchdowns in the second quarter to make it 54-0 before letting off the gas after halftime.
