HSFB: Bobcats can’t keep pace with Sellers, Bruins

Bluffton held its ground early on, but the Bobcats had no answer for South Florence quarterback LaNorris Sellers as the Bruins rolled to a 49-7 season-opening win over visiting Bluffton on Friday.

The Bobcats’ defense started strong, limiting the Bruins to six points in the first quarter and holding the line until South Florence got rolling midway through the second. The Bruins rattled off three quick scores in the final six minutes of the half, including a punt return touchdown, to take a 28-0 halftime advantage.

Sellars, a Virginia commit, opened the second-half scoring with a 42-yard touchdown pass before Bluffton’s Camauri Simmons returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for the Bobcats’ only score of the night. Tyae McWhite added a pair of late touchdown runs for South Florence.

Bluffton (0-1) travels to Bamberg-Ehrhardt for another tough road test Friday.
