The scorching bats kept on rolling in the third inning, plating five more runs highlighted by a pair of doubles by Wolf and Colin Lozan before Wolf shut the door on the mound to bring his All-Stars a win away from a trip to the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series.
Shapiro earned the win with three strong innings of work, surrendering just two hits while picking up a remarkable five strikeouts. Wolf excelled on all sides of the field, taking care of the final three outs on the hill with two strikeouts while going 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Through four games in the state tournament, Hilton Head has outscored its opponents by a margin of 43-6, and will look to put the finishing touches on an incredible week Thursday at 10 a.m. against Midland. The Lowco squad needs just one more win in two chances to wrap up the state title and punch its ticket to Laurel, Mississippi.
