After a two-year wait, the SCHSL baseball playoffs return Saturday, and Beaufort High and May River will hit the road to open the double-elimination district tournament.
Beaufort High (12-8) earned the No. 2 seed from Region 7-4A and will open at North Augusta (12-7) on Saturday. The other side of the District IV bracket has May River (14-6) taking its 10-game winning streak to South Florence (22-3) for a first-round matchup.
The winners and losers of the two games will square off Monday before an elimination game Wednesday and the district championship Friday.
The winner of the double-elimination bracket will face the District III champion in a best-of-three series for the Lower State title next week.
