HS BSB: Eagles strike early, finish off Creek in crosstown rivalry

Beaufort High baseball used an 11-run second inning to break it open and rolled to an 18-9 home win over visiting Battery Creek on Monday. 

Rhogue Wallace went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs, and two RBIs for the Eagles, while James Davenport was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs, and two driven in. Colin Peterson went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs, Josh Denton was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Rush Riley and Zach Talbert each added a hit and two RBIs. 

Talbert also earned the win on the mound, striking out six and allowing one unearned run on two hits and two walks in 4 1-3 innings of strong relief. 

Riley Doray was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to lead the Dolphins at the plate, while Bradley Smith and Hunter Hollingsworth each added a hit and two RBIs. 

The Eagles (12-8) and Dolphins (6-12) meet again Wednesday at Battery Creek.
