Every game in the SCISA 2A playoffs, Hilton Head Christian Academy’s girls soccer team knew it would have to bring its best game to survive and advance.
The Eagles outdid themselves at every turn, saving perhaps their best performance for last in a dominant 3-0 win over Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach to claim the state title Saturday in Columbia.

Bless Hurtado, Devon Yarde, and Addy Lentz all found the back of the net, and the Eagles continued their stifling defensive play, finishing off the playoff run without allowing a goal.
Mikayla Kelca — one of seven seniors on the HHCA roster — recorded her second straight clean sheet in goal in the postseason, ensuring the Saints had no hope of getting back in it after the Eagles grabbed the lead midway through the first half and remained in control all afternoon.
Hurtado opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and HHCA maintained the 1-0 advantage through halftime. Yarde struck gold 12 minutes into the second half, converting an assist from Madison MacCabe, and Lentz delivered the dagger 14 minutes later.
The Eagles finish the season with a 10-4-2 overall mark with their lone defeats coming against SCISA 3A powers Pinewood Prep and Hilton Head Prep and Georgia juggernaut Calvary Day.
