HS SB: War Hawks rout Trojans for ninth straight win

Colleton Prep softball notched its ninth straight win to finish the regular season Wednesday, routing visiting James Island 12-2.

The Trojans opened the scoring in the top of the first inning to go up 1-0, but the War Hawks rattled off 11 straight runs including seven in the third to take a commanding 11-1 lead.

James Island added one in the fourth in an effort to chip away, but Taylor Tomedolskey ended the contest in the fifth inning on a fly ball to left, finishing off the 12-2 run-rule victory.

Linley Jones was tremendous from the cleanup spot, going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles while driving in two runs. Weslin Jones and Haley Bootle also shined for the War Hawk offense, picking up two hits and RBI each.

Bootle earned the win in the circle, throwing all five innings and allowing just one earned run and four hits.

Colleton Prep (11-2, 4-0) now awaits its SCISA 2A postseason seeding.
