HS TEN: Seahawks lock up playoff spot with win over Trojans

Hilton Head High boys tennis punched its ticket to the Class 4A playoffs with a 5-1 win at James Island on Monday.

The Seahawks won a trio of three-set matches, as Alex Ruckno and Moses Grant both rallied after dropping the opening set to claim their singles matches, and Shane Mason and Stefan Russell won after splitting the first two sets at No. 2 doubles.

Brent Geist and Grant Pagatpatan earned straight-sets victories in singles for the Seahawks, while Neo James gave the Trojans their lone victory at No. 1 singles.

The Seahawks (10-3, 10-2) will be the No. 2 seed from Region 7-4A in the playoffs and open on the road May 4.
